With the 2016-2017 school year coming to an end, let’s take a look back on some of our wonderful events hosted by BT’s dedicated clubs:
TECH Club’s senior and staff basketball tournament:
In a competitive basketball game with some of our favorite teachers and seniors, the teachers won by a close margin.
Lemon Club’s Save it or Shave it:
Promising a crazy haircut at the pep rally, the Lemon Club raised funds for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. There were two jars that determined all for Mr. Rosso, Mr. Gosselink, Mr. Nacarra, Mr. Lancaster, Mr. Mellina, and Mr. Miller.
Student Council’s Major March Madness:
Student Council launched a week-long spirit day before the Pep Rally, introducing an opportunity for the students to dress-up, dress-down, show school spirit, have a twin for the day, and more.
Awareness Club’s Frozen fundraiser:
Awareness Club collected money for Dr. Ge and Mrs. Muller to dress as popular characters from the movie Frozen: Olaf and Elsa, respectively. All money was donated to contribute towards AIDS research this December.
HOSA’s cards for cancer patients:
Bergen Tech’s Future Health Professionals (HOSA) collected close to 1800 heart-warming cards from our majors, which they sent to cancer patients during the holiday season.
More school events and volunteer experiences:
- Music Volunteers Club’s visit to CareOne in Teaneck to play music for the senior citizens
- TECH Club at Spectrum for Living in Teaneck to volunteer at monthly dances
- Drama Club’s play, Our Town
Past club sales to feed the hungry souls after-school and to raise money for good causes:
- After-school pizza
- Bubble tea
- Guac and Chips
There have been so many engaging events, creative fundraisers, and good-willed volunteers throughout this year. I am flabbergasted by BT students’ passion and dedication toward their clubs for meaningful purposes. All of our students deserve to have their accomplishments celebrated.
