On May 19th, 2023, BT Drama Club performed its first play in three years since the COVID-19 pandemic: “Mutually Assured Destruction”. This incredibly humorous and lively performance accented the squabbling dynamic between siblings of different time periods.

Overall, the show contained eight different plays from time periods dating back as early as 1922 to as recent as 2015. Each play was a different story about two siblings with their own conflicts. The plays all focused on examples of wonderfully bizarre banter siblings share with each other. Stories ranged from the current day about using Twitter and social media to expose your siblings’ crushes to blackmailing one sibling so they can see the new Star Wars movie, all the way back to a play set in the 1920s about faking your own death to avoid your own wedding. Each story had its own incredible twist that made it easy to laugh and simply enjoy the wonderful acting presented by our own BT students.

The performance was short and sweet but made you want to know more about these characters and the future endeavors and conversations they will have with each other. Anyone who has siblings of their own can feel a connection to at least one of these stories portrayed based on the characters’ charisma and dynamic. All in all, the BT Drama Club put on a great show to highlight the talent of Bergen Tech students.

The entire cast list included the following students:

Grade 12:

Bronx Bailey

Tanais Rojas

Grade 10:

Grade 9:

Also, a big shoutout to Ms. Muller (the club advisor), Mr. Miller, all the AV interns, and the Bergen Tech administrators for making the night possible.
